Shakespeare Drama Club – Autumn 2014 Yrs 4-6

Shakespeare Drama Club

Children from Years Four, Five and Six were involved in an after school drama club. It involved analysing and role playing Shakespeare’s story of Macbeth. The children faced the challenge of learning very difficult lines and portraying a range of different emotions to produce a fantastic rendition of the play. After rehearsing for weeks, the play was performed at the Birmingham Mac in front of a live audience. Very nerve-wracking! We are so proud of all of the children involved!

School Council Cake Sale -Spring 2015

School Council Cake Sale

The School Council decided that they would like to raise some money for some new library books. They worked together, alongside Year Six, to plan and run a sale. They sold cakes, biscuits and bookmarks and had such fun planning recipes and making some of the food! As a result of their hard work, they made well over £100. Thank you to everybody involved, including children who were busy making cakes at the weekend to bring in to sell! School Council have now chosen their new library books, including texts by David Walliams, Francesca Simon, Tom Gates, plus a range of non-fiction books – art, cookery and football. Look out for them in the library soon!

Holy Week 2015 – Stations of the Cross Y5

HOLY WEEK 2015- Stations of the Cross

Year Three, Four and Five worked exceptionally hard during Lent to prepare three beautiful assemblies to take us through the journey of Holy Week. Year Four taught us all about Palm Sunday and how the crowds waved palm branches as they followed Jesus’ procession into Jerusalem. Later in the week, Year Three commemorated the Last Supper of Jesus with the Apostles. They demonstrated how during the meal Jesus took bread and wine and shared them with his disciples. On the last day of term, Year Five took us through a very emotive and moving journey of the Stations of the Cross.  Well done to all of the children involved.
