On Monday 23rd May 2016 the school Council launched the Simon Richards Award In memory of Simon Richards.
Earlier in the year the School Council and some Year 5 children set up a shop of unwanted toys, to raise money. They ran the shop in their own break and lunchtimes and raised over £300. They wanted the money to help purchase something in Simon’s memory.
We commissioned and purchased a memorial plaque and created ‘The Simon Richards Award’ – this will be presented on a termly basis to children who use their talents for the benefit of others.
Anita, Simon’s Mother, was present during the assembly to endorse the Award.
